CISRS Part 2

What is the course?

This course held over a period of 10 days and will support and develop the skills learned in the CISRS Scaffolding Part 1 course. You are only able to enroll on this course if you have gained a minimum of 6 months’ experience on site after achieving your Part 1.

How is the course taught and evaluated?

You will study in a classroom environment with wide ranging, team based practical exercises to ensure you have an understanding of how to erect, make alterations to several types of common scaffolding, and to dismantle scaffolding, all in a safe manner. This will also include some computer based training exercises. There will be assessments involving multiple choice and both written and practical tests.

What qualification will I obtain?

Upon completion of this course, you will obtain a CISRS Scaffolding Part 2 certificate, with a lifetime validity.

What can I do next?

If you are the holder of either a Part 1 or Part 2 certificate, you are able to renew a Red (Trainee) CISRS card, however, this may only be renewed one time.

You will qualify to receive a Blue (Scaffolder) CISRS card if you hold both Part 1 and Part 2, a Scaffolding NVQ L2, and have also passed the (1 day) CISRS Skills Test.

Entry requirements

  • You must be able to climb up and down a ladder in a safe manner
  • You must be physically able to handle both scaffold boards and poles
  • Have a minimum of 6 months’ experience working in scaffolding after acquiring your CISRS Scaffolding Part 1
  • Be fluent in both spoken and written English

Course Content
  • To conform to all associated regulations -BS EN12811, TG20 and SG4
  • To use roof and pre-fabricated beam scaffolds, truss out scaffold, pavement gantry, protective fan, splay and loading bay scaffold types.
  • To set anchors for tie testing
  • To assemble an NVQ/SVQ folder and undertake practical assessments
