IOSH Managing Safely

What is the Course?

The IOSH Managing Safely Course lasts for a total of 3-4 days. Within the course the current legal framework will be discussed to provide an understanding of the overview in a detailed manner and how it syncs with the health and safety sector.

Alongside the legal issues, the course also provides both technical and practical scenarios as part of case studies, providing a heightened awareness of managing safety within myriad industries. The practical, hands on approach to the course offers a simple way for many businesses to raise their standards in health and safety.

How is the Course Taught and Assessed?

The course is delivered in a simple manner, utilising case studies, risk assessments and step-by-step guides. Each module on the course has been developed to be simple and clear, using everyday scenarios that we all recognise, with checklists and materials for delegates to get a feel for the topic and to take back to their own workplace. If you are looking for a flexible health and safety training programme that can be delivered when it suits you, and one that covers all the basics of health and safety, this is the course for you.

For the assessment at the end of the course, individuals will be asked to take a multi-format test paper consisting of 25 questions. This will be added to the risk assessment project undertaken during the 3-4 days of the course itself.

What Qualification Will I Receive?

At the end of the training course, delegates who pass both the project based risk assessments and the 25-point test paper will receive the IOSH Managing Safely certificate.

What Can I Do Next?

Once you have been awarded the IOSH Managing Safely certificate, many people take the next step towards NEBOSH qualifications.

By taking the course in Managing Safely you are improving not only your individual outlook but also the health and safety values of your company. It will lead to greater productivity in the workplace as fewer hours are taken up with and/or lost due to accidents in the workplace or sickness. The certificates will also enhance the reputation of your company within your industry and with suppliers and staff, due to it being nationally recognised.
